Popis:
Our Yiwu gushu for this year comes from an old village in Mansa area - Zhang Jia Wan Lao Zhai (张家湾老寨). Zhang Jia Wan Lao Zhai is a village more than 30km away from Yiwu town, and 13km from Zhang Jia Wan Xin Zhai(张家湾新寨), bordering Laos in the south.
There is big area of ancient tea trees garden. Many of them was chopped down or burned around 1981. The stance to "gu cha shu" was very different at that time. Maocha cost only a fraction of today's price and old high trees were a nuisance for locals. At that time, many gushu gardens were destroyed, some irreversibly. However, in Zhang Jia wan, the trees have sprouted from old stumps again and now reach height of some 2.5 meters. Old and thick trunks are still clearly noticeable in all these trees, as well as sturdy and strong leaves of ancient arbor trees.
Few tea trees were not chopped down and we tasted some single bush maocha from this kind of trees. The tastes are all quite similar to these of the trees that have been cut down and have sprouted again. We tried a lot of maocha from different tea makers. We selected the best tea maker (according to us), who won the first prize in 2010 Six Famous Mountain Tea Experts Competition! They have nice tea garden and good skills of "kill green". This year, tea harvest has been smaller due to drought and the quality of maocha is generally quite variable.
Brewed tea is sparkish yellow and very aromatic. The refreshing aroma releases energy of tea, revealing a vigorous and brilliant farmland covered with various flowers. On the palate is wide, fresh and sweet, full smooth taste. Zhangjiawan tea has distinctive sweet smell. The beauty of this tea is more than I can describe.
This product has been completely handmade, stone pressed in the Yiwu town.
